Niykee continues to write songs despite having been caught up in the latest crisis. Her selection was made to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. The singer-songwriter is attracted to Niykee, who is always looking at most recent beats. Many end up inspiring music ideas. She says that she can discern if a beat is good in just five minutes. And then, a brand new track will come into her brain. When I am playing my guitar in my front yard I begin writing, and words flow. Most times, it's accomplished in thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her skills as a poet and lyricist. She explains how the trauma she endured through the years has served as an infinite sources of ideas. Although I don't write directly about events that have been a part of my life, all the trauma of my childhood and loss of my sister up getting pushed into my music she says. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and adds a greater meaning, which I find very important. I'd like to be able listen to my music 20 years from now and still feel proud about the things I've written.
